Construction of a 42-apartment residential building “L’Îlot Gachoud” in Fribourg

Located between Rue Jacques-Gachoud, Rue de l’Industrie and Route Wilhelm-Kaiser, the “L’Îlot Gachoud” project is part of the gradual transformation of this neighborhood into an area combining shops and housing. Scheduled for completion in 2026, this major project was granted planning permission in 2021. The result of a collaboration between four owners, the block comprises 301 homes, 82% of which are residential, and 244 parking spaces.

The architectural concept is based on an “S” shape, which favors harmonious densification while preserving residents’ privacy thanks to open angles. Externally, the complex adopts a modern, urban aesthetic, with staggered vertical elements, tinted concrete and perforated corrugated sheeting, creating a contrast on a human scale.

Inside, modular spaces meet a variety of needs, with apartments ranging from studio to 5.5-room. Designed with elegance and sustainability in mind, the homes incorporate eco-friendly materials and cutting-edge technologies, with each apartment featuring a terrace or loggia for a pleasant living environment.

The architectural firm Paterr Sàrl was responsible for Lot H of this project, comprising 42 apartments organized around a central private square, as well as a community room, a 21-space underground garage and 29 outdoor parking spaces. This project reflects our commitment to sustainable, contemporary architecture.
