Les Sciers

This competition project was carried out in collaboration with dl-c SA of Geneva.
The competition site is part of a localized neighborhood plan (PLQ) in an urban zone. The aim of the competition is to build 7 residential buildings with commercial areas (total GFA 12,960 m2), including 1 grouping of 3 buildings and 2 groupings of 2 buildings.
In order to rationalize project planning, 3 main typologies were developed by assembling the basic module. These typologies were used not only to respond to the diversity of housing types (HLM, LUP, ZDLOC, PPE), but also to compose the different building groupings.
The 3 standard plans feature a central stairwell around which 3 to 4 dwellings are organized. Each dwelling has well-focused living rooms and a variety of open spaces.
Each dwelling has its own outdoor space. These balconies/winters gardens are veritable bioclimatic greenhouses, optimizing solar gain by cooling living rooms in summer, and acting as buffer spaces in winter. Between seasons, they act as additional rooms.
A high-performance envelope, controlled ventilation and window sizes that optimize solar gains are the main elements needed to achieve the required Minergie P standard.
In addition, the passive contribution of balconies / conservatories will enable better control of heat loss from the envelope, and provide additional comfort for residents thanks to improved temperature regulation in living spaces.
